The journalism degrees and practical trainings are taught as online courses as well as at the institutes and focus on practical journalism training, news media, reporting and photojournalism.

With the Adenauer Fellowship, we support you in your academic journey in becoming an international renowned journalist. During your studies, we would like to see your learning experiences and support you as much as possible in your career path. We offer financial support for your academic degree in journalism, social networking and events, online and throughout Asia.

Meet Jhesset, one of our fellows! 👋

The Adenauer Fellowship offered by the KAS Media Programme Asia, supports fellows in their academic journey to becoming renowned journalists. With the financial support we provide our fellows with, they are given the opportunity and means necessary to... earn an academic degree in journalism, and be part of social networking events throughout Asia.

Jhesset appreciates the Fellowship Program for the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals:

“As a first-time attendee of AMLA in 2023, I am thankful for the space to connect with journalists, visual storytellers, and communicators across Asia, who share the same vision for a more robust media landscape in our region. It was a great learning and networking opportunity for KAS Fellows like myself.”

Jacque, an award-winning journalist from the Philippines, shares insights into how she benefited from the Fellowship Program.

“The Adenauer Fellowship transformed my career. Working with talented journalists at Correctiv in Berlin honed my digital journalism skills, leading to a scholarship for my Master's degree at Ateneo de Manila University. This experience empowered me to innovate in news reporting, using platforms like TikTok, and become a multi-awarded journalist in the Philippines.”

AMLA 2023 in Kathmandu was an enriching experience, reconnecting with KAS fellows and exploring the journalism landscapes in South/East Asia with newsroom visits and story-pitching sessions being the major highlights in 2023.”

For Kanksha, receiving the KAS fellowship was a major milestone:

“Receiving the KAS fellowship was one of the highlights of my year. It encouraged me to push myself and better my craft as a journalist. Thanks to AMLA, I was fortunate to have met so many talented journalists from all over Asia and learn about our many differences and similarities that go beyond geographical boundaries. Truly, something I will never forget.”

“As a first-time attendee, the AMLA 2023 exceeded my expectations. Engaging with journalists from across Asia enriched my learning, offering a space for productive discussions and diverse perspectives. The insights gained went beyond what I could have learned in a newsroom.”
